Smoke detectors are one of the most important safety features of all property types. When is the last time you changed the battery in your smoke detectors? One of the most reliable ways to know if the battery needs replacing is when you hear it chirping. That is a last resort plan, not a proactive plan. You should change the battery in your smoke detector at least annually. You have heard the saying "change your clocks, change your batteries." That is still true and a great idea. Pro tip: Use your smart phone calendar to add a recurring reminder to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. It's a matter of life and death. Now is a good time to start.
At Martin Home Watch, we provide this service for the cost of a Visit (up to 60-minutes). You must provide new fresh batteries. Do not use heavy duty batteries, which is what we found in the photo above - before replacing it with a new Duracell alkaline battery. You must provide a ladder for us to use and your smoke detectors must be reachable without undo risk. Comments are closed.
